WICKED TALES OF A SCIENCE EDUCATOR

February 20, 2019

If there's one thing that I learned from my schooling, it's that if you don't feel like reading or writing, then it's just not the right moment!

There is a reason the term "writer's block" was dubbed.

But when you are ready to get back in the saddle? Well, ou...

'Tis the fall season and that can mean one very important thing: it's time to run to the polls!

Inheritance and responsibility.

I think one of the most amazing things about the idea of voting is the pure concept that we GET TO VOTE. There are dozens of countries arou...

Webster's Dictionary defines to procrastinate as "to put off intentionally and habitually" or "to put off intentionally the doing of something that should be done."

Now, as an educator, I am not glamorizing procrastination. If something needs to be done by a certain tim...

I want to call this year, "The Growth of Jenna." Quite simply, I closed my mouth and opened my eyes and ears. It's absolutely amazing what information can travel to your brain when you let it verbally rest for a bit.

This June will be 4 years since I moved down to Florida from Boston. I still never miss out on a chance to visit. Last weekend was one of those chances. I even brought a friend along for the ride!

I'm not sure how many of you have been to Boston, but it is certainly not...

Science should be messy.  Especially in the early grades.  These mini scientists are starting to explore the world around them.  Worksheets and videos don't cut it.  They HAVE to get hands-on.  As often as possible.

The images are still so vivid in my mind-- from the flowing waters of Gullfoss to the hot springs of the Secret Lagoon to the miles upon miles of untou...
